Cultivating Community: Around the Fire

This year, Rootdown.us has begun a new initiative . . . one that seems rather ironic considering that we're an online platform for Chinese Medicine. While the bells and whistles of technology provide an excellent foundation for the future of this medicine, the root of this medicine still lies in connecting face to face with each other. One does not negate or replace the other. Just like Eastern and Western medicine can be partnered together to create a unified, complementary healthcare system, technology and tradition can be partnered together to create a strong professional foundation for the future of Chinese Medicine.

And so, in the spirit of balance, we've decided to leave technology at home and reconnect with nature and eachother. Each month we will be hosting a fire at Dockweiler Beach in Los Angeles. A unique opportunity for our members (and anyone involved in the health and healing fields) to come together around a fire, enjoy the sunset at the ocean, laugh, share stories, and perhaps jam with some musical instruments. Last month was our first fire - an intimate one, complete with dolphins playing in the water. This month, we're hoping for more members and more dolphins.

So spread the word - Friday, July 17th from 7:30 - 10:00 PM at Dockweiler Beach in Los Angeles, CA. Please RSVP to info@rootdown.us. Once you've done that, we'll send you a phone # to call the night of the fire for an exact location of our bonfire on the beach.
